Privacy
We are a food trailer, not a data business. This page says exactly what we hold and how to have it gone.
What we collect
- Your e-mail, if you join the list. Only that, plus the date you agreed and which page you agreed on. It is encrypted where it is stored.
- Anything you type to Alessandra, our menu assistant, along with her answer — kept briefly so we can tell whether she is being useful and correct.
- Your order, when you buy something: the items, the total and the tax. We keep it because the Canada Revenue Agency requires us to. It is not linked to your name unless you gave us one.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or trackers of any kind, and this site sets no cookies. Where we need to tell one visitor from another — to stop the assistant being abused, for instance — we store a one-way hash of the address, not the address itself.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, or share your details with anyone for their own use. There is no mailing list but ours.
How long we keep it
Newsletter e-mails until you unsubscribe. Assistant conversations for a short window while we check her answers. Order and tax records for seven years, which is what Canadian tax law asks of us.
Getting off the list, or getting it deleted
Every e-mail we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works the moment you click it — nothing to confirm. To have what we hold deleted instead, write to privacy@haweatery.com and we will remove it. Tax records are the exception: we are required to keep those, so we detach your details from them rather than delete the record.
Who to ask
Haweatery, an Ontario partnership — privacy@haweatery.com, or 6100 King St, Mindemoya. If we cannot settle something between us, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada takes complaints.
